GREENSBORO, N.C. — Police have identified a body found in a lake off Plainfield Road in Greensboro on Sunday.
Authorities said the body of 18-year-old Dorien Daymon Jackson of Tangle Lane in High Point was found on the western end of the Lake Townsend.
Officials said the cause of death has been ruled a homicide. Police said they are not releasing specific details, citing an ongoing investigation.
Authorities said Jackson’s family reported him missing to the High Point Police Department on January 13 after he was last seen on Jan. 10.
Police said the call reporting the body came in at 2:10 p.m. Sunday from a fisherman. They said the body was sent to the medical examiner’s office in Raleigh.
“We don’t know what to think. We are totally clueless as to what could have happened to Dorien,” Regina Edwards, Dorien’s sister, said. “We are going to keep pressing until we get some answers and we are not going to stop until we do.”
Officials said the investigation is being conducted jointly by the Greensboro Police Department and Guilford County Sheriff’s Office.
